Yesterday was quite the day, we hiked right after breakfast to the local village and met Francisco, the school teacher and his students. Everyone was paired up and we made our way through the beach with plastic bags and the will to clean! Kona went with us and proved to be the best hiker out of all of us, ready to whacks us with a big ole stick when she felt we were too slow.
The students played games with us, taught us words,
and demonstrated their Garifuna celebration custom!
It was lovely to get to know Francisco and the kids!
They were all extremely easy-going and made us feel welcome.
Of course, they made Kona feel welcomed too!
