Since my last post, Lauren and I have been able to take a couple of boat dives to explore reefs further offshore. The sites we've seen so far are Lion's Head (~30 ft) and Bonker's Nose (~70 ft), and the corals are incredible! It feels like the set of Finding Nemo or something. Snorkeling on the surface is one thing, but being down in the midst of it all is an entirely different story. Definitely a highlight of the trip so far.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to take any pictures on the dives (rip @ my camera), but here are a few from snorkels in the bay:

a cute lil smooth trunkfish

caribbean reef squid (one of the seven in the armada Lauren described earlier)

french angelfish giving me a sassy look

hawksbill sea turtle!
I can't believe it's already been a week, but I couldn't ask for a better trip or group to share it with. Apart from mosquito bites/jellyfish stings/sunburn (praise for aloe and benadryl), life down here is pretty perfect.
Thanks for reading,
Dara
