Rusted Screws

Yesterday was supposed to be the day I truly got my project rolling: I had gathered everything I could need, including a partner in Jaci who was kind enough to promise to sit and hold the tape measure I needed. There was but one problem: It didn't work

After about an hour and a half of rusted screws, missing plastic pieces and frustration I decided to just speed things along and take the bare minimum; the plastic and the axel, and be on with it.

This set up worked at first (I even got to see an octopus in the den while doing so!) but without the plastic to keep it in check, the measure constantly got tangled while traveling from one den to the next.

I got through three before I ended up cutting myself with the metal blades on the axel I'd purposefully dislodged earlier. I took that as a sign, wrote down the den distances from each other (69ft, 132ft respectively) and went back up with Jaci following
