Snorkeling in the Bay

The first day on Cayo Cochinos was amazing. The ride here was quite choppy and bumpy. We got soaked from driving full speed over the waves, especially for those of us sitting on the outside seats. It felt like I was in The Splash-zone in a Disney Park. I vividly remember leaving the smoky mountains of the mainland and seeing nothing but the pure blue horizon. Then suddenly in the distance, there was a small island that appeared. Once we got closer and closer the island got bigger and bigger. It was a sacred paradise tucked away from commotion of the mainland, surrounded by crystal clear waves. The sun was warm, but the sea breeze was nice and cool.
On our first day I've already had what will probably be one of my best experience; snorkeling for the first time in the bay. The top layer of the water was warm, but as I dived down it got much colder. There were so many different species of fish and corals that I saw and we were only out there for about an hour. By far my favorite fish I was a small yellow and purple fish that was no bigger than the size of finger. The fish was so vibrant and colorful, it looked surreal. There were so many purple fan corals. Even though me and my partner kept bumping into each other (sorry Dani) it was a great experience.
