Today was very cloudy, so it was hard enough to see my parrotfish when I went snorkeling without my mask deciding it had served its purpose long enough. No matter what I did, I kept breathing in water.. So eventually I went back in and worked on some readings while I waited for lunch. (Which was pizza by the way, and very very delicious).
After lunch, Meaghan, Kristin and I went snorkeling to work on our projects. Kristin even found a pearl which was incredible- it's beautiful and I'm so glad she found it- she's hilarious and lets me tag along on her morning snorkels (thank you Kristin!!) Again, the visibility was not fantastic, so instead of trying to have laser vision and find parrotfish that blend in with the sand, the three of us went looking for octopuses. We found a starfish and an adorable lobster, but no luck with new octopuses. (I didn't have my camera with me so picture a red starfish and a really cute lobster hanging out under a rock and me choking on saltwater that my mask let in).
After showering, I had a very lengthy discussion with Jess and Aya about whether or not I could get a star legitimately named after me, played my ukulele, and worked on my project some more.
In the morning, I'm hoping to go snorkeling again and I'm hoping even more that it's sunny out so I can actually see the fish I'm looking for. Today was really fun, and I'm so glad I'm here with the people that I'm here with. Even though I'm a lot younger than most of the people in the group, everyone is really nice to me.
I'm having a great time and can't wait for tomorrow!!
The cutest! You're our star!!
